How do I know if I need to see a psychologist. It's always a good idea to speak with you GP about the way you are feeling first. They will be able to recommend whether they think seeing a psychologist is right for you. Alternatively, you can always call and we would be happy to talk through your concerns in a confidential manner.
Confidentiality. Psychologists are bound by their professional code of ethics which ensures that all your information is kept confidential. There are some limits to this confidentiality, ie. if we are concerned for your safety, the safety of someone else, or if it is required for legal reasons.
